May 24th was Slider’s one year anniversary of being a shelter pup. The Humane Society of St. Joe County decided it would be the perfect opportunity to throw her a birthday party. Slider is now 3 years old and the longest resident for this shelter, right now. We continue to love on Slider while we wait for her forever family. It was a gorgeous day for a party! The weather was nice and we could gather outside at the dog park. Slider loved all the open space to run and play. People who love Slider, and the work that the…Keep reading
The shelter ran another promotion for Slider’s adoption over St. Patrick’s Day. This promotional was extended through the end of March. We, again, tried to gain interest in Slider by hitting the socials hard with pictures and videos. The shelter shared our photos of Slider on their Facebook page numerous times in March. Here are some photos from our St. Patrick’s Day photo shoot. She was so goofy and playful during the photoshoot. The tutu was not her favorite. It was so foreign to her, that she just couldn’t ignore it. She chased it like she was chasing her tail,…Keep reading
Since I fell off the blogging band wagon right as Slider came to stay with us, I have a few important events to update you about, and record here, for myself. The shelter ran a promotion for Slider’s adoption over the week of Valentine’s Day. In February Slider had been with us for two months. We were, aggressively, trying to gain the interest of a suitable adopter for Slider during that promotion. Here are some of the photos I was able to capture. Slider is still with us. Sadly, we could not find an adopter during the Valentine’s Day promotional…Keep reading
Wow, the last several months have been crazy! We adopted Neville at the end of December. One week later, we took in a new foster, Slider. That same week, both Derek and I fell ill with Covid-19. We are much better, thankfully. Fostering through sickness is no joke, and adding to your pack is no small transition! We were very tired for a while, but we are doing this thing and hanging in there. Slider is our beautiful foster pup that has been with us for four months. I can’t believe it has been that long already! Due to growing…Keep reading
We have a new foster coming on Friday, and we are so excited! Stay tuned for updates on that. The reason I’m writing today, though, is because I want to share my overall experience with fostering, so far. Though you can read through my previous posts to learn about each of the dogs we’ve had, I don’t feel they sum up my overall feelings about our fostering experience. That is what I truly want to share with you in this post. I had thought about fostering dogs for some time. It was a thought that would flutter in, and remembering…Keep reading
I am a fun-loving, free spirit. My foster mom says I have the biggest personality she has ever seen., whatever that means. I am determined and strong-willed, but unsure at times. I am super curious, and I can be very affectionate, but I don’t tell you that right away. My foster mom thinks I am hilarious. I really have a lot of energy and that, sometimes, gets me into trouble. There is never a dull moment with me around.
